Nutritionist Visit in Rome

Contrary to what you may have heard, nutritionists can help with more than weight loss plans. If you are struggling with issues such as nutrient deficiencies, weight gain, digestive issues, targeted diets, maternal nutrition, or other concerns, a consultation with the nutritionist may be right for you. During the visit, you have the opportunity to share your medical history, alimentary concerns and goals, as well as ask questions to get a better idea of the kinds of changes you can implement in your life to improve your overall condition. Lastly, the nutritionist may suggest some lab testing  for your doctor to prescribe to get a better picture of what is going on or supplements to bring your body into balance.

How does it work?

If you are a first-time patient, we will complete a short registration. Following this, the doctor will call you back and ask you about the reason for your visit. During your personalized nutritional consultation, you can discuss:​

  • Personal medical history

  • Dietary restrictions and/or food allergies

  • Medications or supplements

  • Nutritional and physical activity habits

  • Specialized diets for different conditions (prediabetes, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, liver or kidney disease, disordered eating, headaches, polycystic ovarian disease and endometriosis)

  • Weight management (under or over), if of interest

  • Body composition

What kinds of food tests can I get at FirstMed?

Q: Will the nutritionist put me on a diet?

A: Depending on your condition and the purpose of your visit, you and your specialist may decide that adding, removing, or modifying certain dietary habits may be the best way to help you achieve your alimentary goals.

Q: Can the nutritionist help me lose weight?

A: Many people set weight loss as an ongoing goal, and a visit to the nutritionist is one way you can begin this journey. The specialist will talk you through the best habits and healthiest ways to meet this objective and help you to get a clearer picture of the right aims for your personal case.

Q: Can the nutritionist help me gain weight?

A: If you struggle with being underweight, speaking to the nutritionist may be a good idea. They may suggest healthy ways you can begin to add weight, some of which could be through a change in diet or physical activity.

Q: What if I have digestive issues?

A: Working through digestive issues may be a joint task between your nutritionist and your gastroenterologist (GI). One specialist may refer you to the other or vice versa, but our nutritionist may be able to give you some useful suggestions to try as a first method of response.

Q: Can the nutritionist create a meal plan with my allergies in mind?

A: Yes, by discussing your allergy concerns with the nutritionist, you can work together to formulate eating habits that help you enjoy the things you love without risking allergen exposure.

Q: How much does the nutritionist visit cost?

A: A typical nutritionist visit is €100.00 with FirstMed Personal Value Card (discount card) for cash payers.
