STD Swab Panel

Some STDs must be diagnosed by collecting a sample from the genitals, throat, or rectum using an STD swab.

What is included in the STD Swab Panel?

The STD swab panel includes

​

  • neisseria gonorrhea

  • herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1)

  • herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-2)

  • common germs

  • candida

  • fungi

  • ureplasma urealiticum

​

The cost of the swab panel is €150. Chlamydia rapid test is not included in the package and the cost of the test is €45 if you wish to add this to the panel.

STD testing at FirstMed is confidential, simple and very quick. Appointments last around 5-10 minutes. Before your appointment, you can talk to the nurse or the doctor to make sure you are taking the right tests.​

Our lab for swab tests is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., so please book tests accordingly.

When should you have an STD test done?

​

Diseases may not show up immediately after exposure. For chlamydia and gonorrhea, you should be tested the first 6 days following sexual contact. The window of time differs based on the type of virus.

How can you get your results?

​

Results will be sent to you by email, but when you visit the clinic for your STD screening, you can discuss with the staff the various options for receiving your results, and choose the delivery method that works best for you.

There is no restriction for the std swab tests, so you do not need to collect them in person. We can send them via email.

When should you receive your results?

​

Results can take from 2 days up to a week to be ready.

​

It can vary depending on the specific test being performed. Some tests can provide results in 2 working days, while others may take several days or even up to a week.

​

When you visit the clinic, the staff will let you know approximately how long it will take to receive your results.
