What is included in the blood panel?

Some STIs can be detected by a blood test which looks at antibodies and proteins that are produced by the body in response to the virus.

The blood panel includes

  • genital herpes

  • chlamydia

  • HIV, syphilis

  • hepatitis A

  • hepatitis B

  • hepatitis C

STD testing is very quick. Appointments last around 5-10 minutes. Before your appointment, you can talk to the nurse or the doctor to make sure you are taking the right tests.

The cost of the STD blood tests is €130.

Our lab is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., so please book tests accordingly.

When should you have an STD test done?

When you're exposed to an STI, it takes time for these antibodies to build. To ensure an accurate result, it is best to wait at least 12 days from the time of exposure before getting tested.

The window of time for STDs depends on the type of virus. Antibody testing for HIV can occur between 18 days and 90 days.

How can you get your results?

Results will be sent to you by email.

Please note that for restrictions imposed due to Italian Privacy Laws, we are unable to send the results of HIV tests via email or phone communication.

When should you receive the results?

The results for the STD blood tests generally take 1 or 2 working days.

Same day STD tests are not commonly available in Italy. If you need your test results by a certain time, please be sure to make an appointment with these downtimes in mind.
