Gonorrea
Gonorrhea, or "the clap", or "drip" is a common sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by a bacteria called Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
How to get tested for Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea may not cause symptoms. This makes it easy to infect your partners unknowingly. That's why it is important to get tested regularly and to see your healthcare provider if you think you’re infected.

Gonorrhea test is very easy and quick.
It must be diagnosed by collecting a sample from the genitals, throat, or rectum using an STD swab. After the test is done, the sample will be sent to the lab to test. If bacteria are present, they will grow, which indicates an infection.
Appointments last around 5-10 minutes. Before your appointment, you can talk to the nurse or the doctor to make sure you are taking the right test.

When should you get tested for Gonorrhea?

You can get gonorrhea from intercourse, anal sex, oral sex, or sharing sex toys with an infected person.

Diseases may not show up immediately after exposure. For chlamydia, you should be tested the first 6-7 days following sexual contact. The window of time differs based on the type of virus.

Results can take from 2 days up to a week to be ready.

Results will be sent to you by email, but when you visit the clinic for your STD screening, you can discuss with the staff the various options for receiving your results, and choose the delivery method that works best for you.
